India Pearl Mountain returns to our lineup due to customer demand!
The Hindi name ‘Ratnagiri’ means ‘Pearl Mountain,’ referring to the silver oak canopy atop this farm. Established in 1920, Ratnagiri is run by Ashok Patre, a progressive farmer who inherited it from his grandfather and father. He uses innovative methods, testing Brix levels before harvesting and drying fully washed coffee on raised beds.
Ratnagiri operates as an organic/biodynamic farm with Rainforest Alliance Certification. It employs quarterly soil tests, organic amendments, ionic seawater, and seaweed extract to enhance plant health and fruit quality. The estate’s lush, three-tiered shade environment hosts diverse wildlife, including 48 bird species, monkeys, leopards, wild boar, tigers, mongoose, and occasional elephants. Ashok prioritizes ecological harmony, making Ratnagiri one of India’s premier coffee farms.
